Hello!

My name is Brisha.

I am a recent graduate of Capella University holding a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have enjoyed working with families, women and youth aged children/young adults this far on my journey. My therapeutic style is Solution-Focused and Experiential. I want clients to know early on that they withhold great ideas and notions about their lives that are reachable! I collaborate with clients and gently guide them to solutions that they have always possessed. They just may not have realized the solutions were present. I strive to help clients realize all the strengths they possess and encourage doing more of what works! Alongside this theory, I also put high value on the client-therapist relationship and make sure my clients can trust me as well as trusting the process.

A session with me can include but not be limited to: guided mindfulness/meditation to assist with mind and body connections, talk therapy, art therapy, processing previous trauma, utilizing worksheets as interventions, and journaling. I suggest different homework assignments to promote client independence and promote the reality of not saving all of the work for therapy sessions alone. I assess how clients may be feeling that day and suggest interventions that may prove to be helpful. I want to ensure my clients have something to take away from each session that they can apply to everyday life. I enjoy working with families in many different stages of the life cycle, women of all ages, youth aged children as well as young adults. Working with this population has been an absolute joy and I have been able to relate to clients in ways I never thought possible.

I am Georgia born and raised and believe that the southern hospitality instilled in me shows through each session and allows clients to feel at ease with being at their most vulnerable when in my presence. With the southern hospitality that I possess, it has been vital to accommodate those who cannot get their partners or family members in one space at the same time. No worries about that because I offer virtual visits as well!

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 amazing children! I also enjoy hiking, being still and immersed in silence, taking walks in the park, picnics, working out, visiting different restaurants (I am absolutely a foodie!), dancing (even though I have 2 left feet!) traveling, reading/listening to audio books, true crime podcasts, and enjoying other friends and family when possible.
